 THE MODULES 1998 PROGRAMME:  UPDATE FROM THE MARCH SCT WEEK
 ____________________________________________________________

 Following the project reviews during the March 1998 SCT Week, and the 
 confirmed delay in availability of front end chips in sufficient quantity
 of the required performance, it was agreed by the Institute Board to 
 reduce the target numbers of ELECTRICAL MODULES to be constructed in the 
 period up to end-JULY/early-AUGUST. The new numbers are given in the table
 below, and these will require the MODULES construction programme to have
 access to numbers around 100 n-type and 80 p-type ABCD chips in the near
 future. For the post-August programme it is necessary to secure additional
 runs of chips with improved performance.

 In view of the reduced numbers of constructed modules for the near future
 could Cluster contacts please inform us of any modifications they wish to
 have made in item orders or delivery times.
