You first will need to set up a root with car, lib bin db and paw directories hanging off it, called $TB96ROOT. Now copy /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/bin/stalig.make /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/bin/stalig2.run /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/lib/* /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/car/* /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/db/* remake the library with lib/strpge.csh compile the alignment job using with /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/bin/stalig.make and then run using /afs/cern.ch/user/w/wmurray/public/tb96/pro/bin/stalig2.run disk filename You will need an initial alignment file, but hopefully the latest one in db/ will be good enough. The output histrograms in paw/al_nnnn.hbook must be looked at (nnnn is the run number), for the telescope they should be nice and sharp. Try to compile, and tell me what happens. Would you instruct me where the source code is and a brief idea on how the alignment is based.. But many people (e.g. me) never use the results, and it is all called AGAIN when processing the DST. (By that time there should be good alignment, which is doubtful the first time). The advantage of getting some alignment done before all the DST is made is that you get some tracks in the ntuple, and can then make lots of nice Paw plots. If you can make a DST and ftp it to CERN I can align it - or I can show you where my code is. Bill =========================================================== To Bill: by the way, where the beam telescope data analysis/beam reconstruction program gets involved? Reading DST and do the reconstruction? Or, reading the raw data?...
