I based the scheme around the drawings of the KEK end and centre tap modules and their supports available from your web page. The mounting holes are in the same places with respect to the centreline of the detectors, although the footprint of the support is a little larger. I hope this will not be a problem. Our module will be built on a 380 micron beryllia baseboard. I am worried that this may crack, if the support frame to which it is mounted is so weak as to deform easily. I would like to make the frame from 6mm thick material, preferably ALCOA aluminium. I have left a large gap around the detector, except at the mounting points: hopefully the remaining material will not be so bad for multiple scattering. If aluminium is not acceptable, we could use some kind of resin bonded laminate. I have placed postscript files of these drawings on WWW. The relevant home page is: http://hepwww.rl.ac.uk/atlas/tracking/ET/ET.html and the postscript files are http://hepwww.rl.ac.uk/atlas/tracking/ET/CT1.ps /CT2.ps I could not view these files with Ghostview, but they print OK. Please take a look, and let me know if modification is required. Cheers, Peter. ================== RFC 822 Headers ================== Return-Path: pwp@hepax6.rl.ac.uk Received: by kekvax.kek.jp (UCX V4.0-022J, OpenVMS V6.2 VAX); Sat, 18 Jan 1997 08:43:20 +0900 Received: from hepax6 by kekux.kek.jp (8.8.2/rewrite from KEK-Master/1.0c/96.4.17) id IAA14615; Sat, 18 Jan 1997 08:43:15 +0900 Date: Fri, 17 Jan 1997 23:43:13 GMT Message-Id: <97011723431352@hepax6.rl.ac.uk> Reply-To: pwp@v2.rl.ac.uk From: pwp@hepax6.rl.ac.uk (P.W.Phillips@rl.ac.uk) To: unno@kekvax.kek.jp, DJM1@hep.phy.cam.ac.uk, JDR@hep.ph.liv.ac.uk Subject: Mounting for UK Centre Tap module X-VMS-To: SMTP%"unno@kekvax.kek.jp" X-VMS-Cc: PWP, djm1@hep.phy.cam.ac.uk, jdr@hep.ph.liv.ac.uk
